The North Harbour Rugby Union is the preeminent sporting body in the North Harbour region with over 10,000 registered players ranging from children playing ‘rippa rugby’ through to fully professional players, including All Blacks. We work in collaboration with our 12 vibrant Clubs and Primary and Secondary Schools throughout the region to grow and strengthen rugby and the contribution it makes to the rich fabric of our community.
The North Harbour Rugby Union Board is responsible for establishing and monitoring the strategic direction and performance of the Union on behalf of its stakeholders, and works closely with the General Manager and his staff to achieve this.
We now invite applications for the positions of two Appointed Directors to join the Board. Under the Board rotation policy one or two Appointed Director vacancies arise each year. (Applicants should be aware that retiring Board Members are eligible to reapply and the incumbent Directors have indicated they will seek re- election)
Given the governance role of the Board, applicants will need to have proven experience and success at a senior management or board level. They will need to possess a high level of commercial awareness coupled with excellent leadership qualities that will enable them to contribute to the North Harbour Rugby Union and its constituent clubs’ success. A strong interest in rugby, from junior to professional level, and an understanding of the importance of Provincial rugby in New Zealand, is essential.
