Can anyone help Northcote Intermediate Girls with boots? They need Sizes 11,10,9,8 & 6 Unfortunately none of the Northcote girls own boots and had to play in socks (a couple had trainers). Any donations of second hand boots would be most appreciated. Please bring them into the North Harbour Union Office and we will get them to the girls. Call Jacqui on 09 4472108 if you can help.
North Harbour Premier Club Round-up11th May
Takapuna and East Coast Bays had a high scoring 11 try encounter with Takapuna dominating to win 43-29 to go into a tie for second place with Marist who beat Massey 29-14 and defended the Les Pearce Challenge Shield. Western went well at Devonport outscoring North Shore in the second half but they were held out 23-17 by unbeaten Shore. Silverdale struggled against gutsy Glenfield and only got on top in the second half helped by two tries to Jordan Manihera but Glenfield struck back late in the game to complete a 22-13 score-line. Northcote got the bonus point they wanted thumping winless Mahurangi 71-0 at home with backs Ben Searle and Ben Whitely scoring three tries each. With only one game remaining in the first round North Shore would appear to have secured the Buck Shelford Shield for the first round but the big game of round 9 is Takapuna v Marist at Onewa Domain which will decide second place. Jacob Botica, North Shore’s first-five is on 97 points in the Premier grade and has an opportunity to be the first Harbour club player to reach 100 points this year.
