Tom Savage confirmed as North Harbour Captain for 2025 Bunnings Warehouse NPC

North Harbour Rugby wish to share the exciting news that Tom Savage (North Shore) has been confirmed as Captain for our 40th Anniversary season.

A player with a high degree of leadership pedigree, Tom began his professional career with Gloucester in 2011. After nearly 200 matches for Gloucester and captaining them for several seasons, he then spent 2019-2023 playing in Japan. Tom subsequently signed with Moana Pasifika in the 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season and has rapidly gained respect within the North Harbour region, as a resource coach for Rangitoto College.

A robust player who can cover lock and flanker, Tom will provide influence both on and off the field, not only with his powerful carrying and lineout accuracy, but with his supreme analytical abilities and globally-attained leadership.

Remarking on his new role as Captain, Tom reflected that "it’s an honour to lead an exciting group of players, especially on the 40th anniversary of the union. We’re looking forward to representing everyone who built the union’s foundation before us.
