SENIOR WOMEN'S CLUB RUGBY


North Harbour would like to announce the return of the Senior Women's Rugby to community clubs. 

Congratulations to the Silverdale Rugby Club who have completed work on their Femalefacilities. In conjunction with North Harbour Rugby and the Women and GirlsClub Check which has provided insights and funding for Clubs, Silverdale hasprepared their spaces for their current club members, creating lasting improvements and leading the way for the development of the female game.

A big shoutout to Glen Maguire (Silverdale Female Director of Rugby), Sinead Maguire,Danielle Harrison (Harbour Rugby Manager Women’s & Girls), Emily Hodges (HarbourSport Development Advisor, Women and Girls) for the amazing work that has gone into the renovation.

After 3 years of facilitating the Albany Barbarians programNorth Harbour Rugby is welcoming the return of our community clubs providingopportunities for our Harbour Women to represent their communities in theAuckland Wider Women’s competitions.

North Harbour Rugby would like to thank all the volunteersand participants who represented the Albany Barbarians team over the last 3years, in particular North Harbour Marist who opened their facility fortraining and playing purposes.

The time is now for NHRU to support local clubs in theirefforts to provide the appropriate playing opportunities for their femaleplayers. In 2022 with support from the New Zealand Rugby Variable IncentiveFund, NHRU have designed and delivered the Women’s and Girls Club Check whichhas provided clubs with insights and resources on how we create playingopportunities for female memberships. Off the back of the energy created by theBlack Ferns post their World Cup success and the exponential growth in theJunior and Youth female game it’s encouraging to see the clubs positioningthemselves for an increase in interest and participation.

Clubs are currently enhancing their environments, investingin quality coaches, and welcoming female leadership to help provide the qualityexperience our female membership deserve.
