Harcourts Cooper & Co have signed on to support a part of the game where both girls and boys learn about rugby, enjoy the camaraderie of team sport and gain skills for later grades.

Martin Cooper, Harcourts Cooper & Co’s Managing Director is proud to support the Union once again in this space.

“Harcourts Cooper & Co has had a great partnership with Harbour Rugby over the years supporting Junior Rugby players to get out, have fun and enjoy the game with their mates. It’s really special to see the kids and their families out and about on Saturdays, and the positivity it brings to communities on the North Shore.”

Harbour Rugby’s manager of junior and youth rugby, Jacob Corbett says the support from Harcourts Cooper & Co is great for the game at this level which brings younger players together to enjoy sport in a team environment as well as aiming to keep them in the game in the future as well.

“It’s simple, we wouldn’t be able to make junior rugby happen without the support of Harcourts Cooper & Co. We have one of the biggest primary and intermediate bases in New Zealand and there is plenty of enthusiasm for the game from Harcourts Cooper & Co and from the young players too,” said Corbett.

“Year on year we have seen an increase in junior club teams, and this year is no different. We now have multiple rippa, rip rugby and tackle rugby options for boys and girls. There will be 331 junior club rugby teams that will kick off over the coming weeks, which is awesome.”

Along with the traditional junior weekend rugby program, mid-week festivals will be run from May until early September to encourage further participation experiences around the Province. In 2019 there was 82 schools which took part in Harcourts Cooper & Co primary and intermediate schools festivals.
