NORTH HARBOUR RUGBY UNION – 2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The 37th NHRU AGM is scheduled for Wednesday 23rd March 2022 7.00pm in the Level 1 Lounge, First Floor, North Harbour Stadium, Stadium Drive, Albany.

Please find set out below details of the various nominations required, and other items for your information:

  1. Directors

    a. Club Directors (4).  As per the Constitution there are no Club Director vacancies this year.

    b. Appointed Directors (4).  As per the Constitution there is one Appointed Director vacancy. The incumbents may re-stand for election. An advertisement for the Appointed Director is attached and will be advertised on the NHRU website and through selected websites.  An Appointments Committee will interview applicants and make recommendations to be ratified at the AGM.  Applications for Appointed Directors close on Wednesday 23rd February 2022, not less than 28 days prior to the date fixed for the AGM.

2. Officers

Nominations for Officers (Patron, President, and Vice President) are called for and must be in the hands of the Board 35 days prior to the date fixed for the Annual General Meeting by Wednesday 16th February 2022.  The current Officers of the Union are:

Vice-President              Alan Linstrom

The current Patron Peter Dolan has indicated he is available for re-election.

The current President Brett Norris and the current Vice-President Alan Linstrom have both completed their second terms. However, given Covid disruptions it has been suggested that both terms be extended for one year. A resolution will be proposed at the beginning of the meeting to enable this.

3. Business

You are reminded that under Clause 14.2 of the Constitution no business shall be transacted unless notice thereof shall have been given in writing to the Chief Executive of the Union at least 14 days prior to the meeting (i.e., Wednesday 9th March 2022).

The order of business and any attachments will be circulated as required under the constitution at least 7 days prior to the meeting.

It will include a resolution to allow the extension of the term of the President and Vice President and a change in the rules to allow future general meetings to be conducted via electronic means.

4. Attendees

Under Clause 14.5(c) you must advise the names of your representatives at least 48 hours before the date of the meeting (i.e., Monday 21st March 2022).  Clubs and Affiliated bodies are entitled to be represented as per Clause 14.6 (a).
