Game Highlights |

Fortress Windsor – is still intact after Harbour B’s put the Taniwha to the sword. The 85-point match was the end of the Northern Region B Campaign for 2017, with both teams wanting to empty their tanks. Northland started the try scoring after 6 mins and were really up for it until the Harbour men saw a few holes. The match was played at pace and Northland were matching our men all the way until the 30th min. Harbour had score 4 tries with Todd Doolan adding 4 Conversions, and miss match in defence for Harbour saw Northland sneak in another on half time. A stern message from the Harbour coaches saw the boys run riot scoring another 6 tries with the Todd Doolan adding 5 more conversions with the haul of 18 points. Harbour tries came from Nick Smith 2, Kane Jacobson 2 ‘player on the day, Mark Royal, Danny Drake, Gannon Moore, Fraser Conway, Pierre Pili, Lua Li, all dotted down for their 5 pointers. That was the end for the B’s finishing 3rd in the Northern Region B Competition. A good performance to score 68 points against Northland with 10 tries is a great effort. Thank you to all our supporters, Family and Friends, ECB Rugby for hosting our fixtures, Billy and Slade in the Kitchen at ECB. Glenfield Rugby Club for using their facilities as our training base. North Harbour Rugby Union for all their work behind the scenes. Our Sponsors, QPC Builders ‘Alex Coburn, Allen Vaughan from the Inn field Bar of Glenfield Road. How we started, preseason 2 Wins over Harbour U19s, Auckland B, Northern B Competition, wins Over Auckland B Juniors, Counties Black and Red, Waikato, Northland, and 2 losses to Auckland B, Taranaki. Finishing 3rd Northern Region B.

Game Highlights |

Taranaki were calling for the B’s to head South, a trip with excitement on the way down and a fixture venue changed during the week. The B’s were transferred from Yarrow number 2, to Old Boys Rugby Club. A club with a lot of history and long grass was going to be an interesting challenge. Right from the kick off the Naki had come to play. Within the first 40 we were down 3 tries to one, and we were very lucky there Taranaki goal kicker had left his kicking boots at home. We were still in the match at half time with Connor Collett use his power to run through 3 defenders. Taranaki were very tough around the ruck area, and there defence was spot on. Harbour managed to change their game play, to use the width more and we started to play catch up. We score a few more tries to Adrian Smith, Matu Tevi, and a solo try to Silverdale’s flyer Gannon Moore, with Toddy Doolan kicked 3 conversions. Harbour had hit the lead and a penalty to the Naki in the closing stages stole the match. We managed to score 26 points and get two bonus points, but still the W was missing. That was a game that we couldn’t finish off. *Highlights- Stop off in Te Kuiti to play Tribute to Sir Colin Meads. *Longest golf drive contest at Tainui Rugby Club went to Lua Li. *Trivia Questions on Harbour History went Jarrod / Dennis. Thank you to Paladin for Sponsoring these activities. |

Game Highlights |

The Windsor Park fortress is still the tack. The B’s welcomed Counties Black along for another ding dong battle. Harbour dominated the entire match but lacked the finishing touches to secure a bonus point. The three tries came from Josh Tyrell, Lewis Gjaltema, Mark Talea with his acrobatic 5 pointers, with David McMurtrie steering the bus with 2 conversions and penalty.
Harbour had a 14-3 lead at half time, and downwind in the second spell. We all knew Counties would finish strongly and they did. 17 points with ball in hand to be cut short of the try line in the 78th minute, a huge sigh of relief. Player of the day went to Adrian Smith. * The B’s will be travelling to Taranaki next weekend. Safe travels team. |

Game Highlights |

The Harbour B’s are continuing their early good form with three wins in a row. They faced a big pack from Counties, known as the Red team. Harbour’s home game at Windsor Park was always going to be a battle. We scored 4 Try’s in 40mins, the five pointers came from – Sam Graham, Lewis Gjaltema, Saolofa Silipa, Josh Tafili, Toddy Doolan adding 3 Conversions, 1 Penalty. Counties replied just before half time with a great team try, they had a sniff. The Second 40 for Harbour and a tail wind was always going to be a little easier, however Counites showed a fight back and putting a lot of pressure on us. The game started to open up with both teams throwing the ball around, lots of advantage going both ways, but no one actually turning the metres into points. Harbour had two chances to grab two more, but fumbled. Only in the last 5mins Josh Tafili managed to cross over for one more, which put the game out to a commanding lead. Counties never gave up. Final score 34- 12. All spectators would have enjoyed watching 46 points of footy. |
