Massey Rugby Breat Cancer Appeal Game

MASSEY RUGBY BREAST CANCER

APPEAL GAME

The ideal and development of this appeal event, came from a number of senior players of Premier team, Mike Legge, Denis Pili-Gaitau, Rob Gaitau, Ben Svensen and Adrian Smith wanting to reconnect and also put someting back to the surrounding Massey community.

As a community we all have a family member and know of someone that has battled Breast Cancer or we have even lost them to the disease....

A number of players and club members have mothers, wifes, sisters and extended family members dealing with Breast Cancer.

What better way to show our support to a very worthly curse and also a chance highlight and raise funds to continue fight on early intervention of Breast Cancer.

Massey Rugby is holding a Breast Cancer Awareness Appeal game on the 16th June 2012, to be held at Moire Park, Massey.

In the Massey Community, its important to raise the awareness of this due to the vast demographic of our area. We decided to do this by having a Rugby Appeal Game to raise awareness and funds to help support the fight against Breast Cancer. Our Premier Team will be wearing a one off PINK Strip to commemorate this event which will be auctioned off in a Silent Auction which has already started. On the day we will have Donation buckets going around, a PINK Cup cake stand, Sausage Sizzles, Jumpy castles for the kids, Raffles in which all monies raised will be donated to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. Grassroots Rugby will also be televising this on their Weekly Show.
