North Harbour's 25th Jubilee Team

Fitting 28 All Blacks, and numerous other high achieving players into 15 position was always going to be a difficult task for the panel chosen to select the North Harbour 25 Year Jubilee Team. Former North Harbour coaches Peter Thorburn and Brad Meurant selected an initial squad of 60 players (4 players in each position) from which Tony Johnson, Doug Golightly, Wynne Gray, Murray Deaker and Lindsay Knight each selected their 1st XV. The final make-up of the team was determined by the player in each position receiving the most votes from the panel of guest selectors.

The final team (listed below) features two current players, Tony Woodcock and Anthony Boric, along with a number of North Harbour hero’s from the past, and was announced at the Jubilee Luncheon attended by 600 people prior to the Battle of Bridge match with Auckland on Sunday, 1st August.
